Jurgen van Oostenbrugge was born in Stellendam (NL) in 1991. He started his music education when he was 7 years old. In 2009 he started studying at the Rotterdam Conservatory with Pierre Volders, Jörgen van Rijen and Remko de Jager. From 2011 on he continued his studies with these teachers at the Amsterdam Conservatory. He graduated in 2013.
Next the regular lessons at the conservatories Jurgen had lessons with Joseph Alessi, Michel Beqcuet, David Bruchez, Stefan Schulz, Daniel Lassalle, Ben van Dijk, Bart van Lier, Jiggs Wigham, Christopher Houlding and Jonas Bylund.
As a freelance trombone player Jurgen performed with several orchestra's in the Netherlands, like the Hague Philharmonic and the Radio Chamber Orchestra. Currently he is a member of the Zeeuws Orkest. He also plays in several ensembles and bands like the Dutch Trombone Ensemble and The New Orpheans. In the past he was a member of the Young Trombone Collective and the Dutch Youth Orchestra.
Next to the activities as a trombone player, Jurgen is also an arranger. He arranged pieces for several ensembles and orchestras.
